women in science

Freshmen girls take a trip to Watertown, South Dakota to look and hear about job opportunities in the science field. Joining them was the high school science teacher, Mrs. Schiefelbein. This trip was taken on wednesday, November 3rd.

Women in Science is a conference to create personal connections between professional women in science and young females. To go to Women in Science you have to sign up. It is limited to 200 girls in the area. Deuel wasn't the only school that went, other schools did attend. Mrs. Schiefelbein said that they went to it because it gives our students the option to explore the opportunities for careers for women in science. When the group that went was there they got to go and talk to other women and learn about job opportunities for women in the science field.

They learned a lot about jobs that are open for women that are in the science field. Our freshmen girls were lucky to be part of 200 girls in the area to go to women in science.

This story will also be in the clear lake courier.
