Cyber Bullying: New Trend?

Bad things come from technology? Yes, unfortunately! Teens are finding news ways to bully others.

Cyber bullying is bullying online, on cellphones, and etc. I believe teens use this because they are scared to do it to the victim's face. I bet a lot of things they 'type', they wouldn't actually be able to say to that person's face. In fact, I know people who have confronted others about things they have said online, and they just have a look of stupidity on there face. They have no idea what to say!

I don't think people realize how much they can be putting a person down by writing bad stuff about them online. Words do hurt people! Teens around the world have committed suicide because of cyber bullying.

Something needs to be done about this! There are some states that have laws about cyber bullying, but they must not be strict enough if suicides keep happening from it.

Teen Relationships Gone Bad

Abusive relationships can start off little and turn into something beyond imagination. A lot of teens don't even realize that there relationship is turning into violence or are in denial of it.

Dating violence is a pattern of abusive behavior whether it is emotional, mental, verbal, financial, physical, sexual, or social abuse.

Both females and males can be the one getting abused or be the one who is being abusive. Sometimes teen boys believe they have the right to 'control' their partner over anything. Also some believe they will lose respect if they are supportive of their partner. Many teen girls believe that they are responsible for solving the problems in their relationship. Some think that their boyfriend's jealously, possessiveness, and physical abuse are 'romantic.'

Signs that your relationship could turn into an abusive relationship:

-extreme jealousy -controlling behavior

-explosive anger -threatens violence

You will hear people talk about abusive teen relationships, or even see it on TV but you never think it will happen to you or people you know. Think again. The statistics of dating violence are outrageous! Here are a few that might make you think twice:

-About one in three high school students have been or will be involved in an abusive relationship.

-Forty percent of teenage girls ages 14 to 17 say they know someone their age who has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend.

-More than half young women raped (68 percent) knew their rapist either as a boyfriend, friend or casual acquaintance.

If you or someone you knew is in an abusive relationship get help. Don't be afraid to talk to anyone.

Be Careful and Drive Safe!

There are many teens that drive to and from school everyday. Even though they may think that they are driving safely, something may happen to them in a blink of an eye. While driving on the road students may think that they know everything about driving and what other people are doing. There are many reasons why teens are in or cause the most accidents but the top ones are drunk driving and driving at night with friends in the car.
How many teens do you think end up driving drunk? Well the stats say that 6.4%. Teens could stop all of the accidents that happen from drunk driving. But do you think that if the teens have been drinking will call their parents to come pick them up? Most likely not because they either don't want to get in trouble by their parents because they were drinking. Or they have either had too much to drink and think they can do anything and everything. If you teen called you and asked you to come pick them up because they have had too much to drink, would you?
Are you a good driver at night when you have friends in your vehicle with you? Well you may think so, but what do your friends think? When it comes to comparing who drives better male or female teen drivers, female drivers are better. In the article I read it says "the male driver death rate is one and a half times higher than the female death rate". Male drivers tend to speed more than drunk driving.
