Teens Lead Dramatic Lives.

Teens need to come up with a better past time. Their lives are corrupted by jealousy and slander. This leads them to talking about other people, and saying things to make themselves feel better. If you have a low self-esteem go to counseling to help yourself, but don't try to drag other people down with you.

Most people want to live a stree-free, peaceful life. Unfortunately, there are the select few who we could coin as "drama queens." You can look up the term "drama queen" at urbandictionary.com. These are people who are obsessed with drama, and who don't have anything better to do. It's really frustrating to hear they're obscene comments and what gossip they're spreading about you. But deep down know they are envious of something you have or are very insecure with themselves. I'm going to list some facts about fights below, some with tips and some just plain stupid low blows.

1. Always be the bigger person. If you are the one being attacked you already are, so keep it that way. Drama queens love attention, so don't give that to them. If you don't react to them, they have nothing, except to go on and say more about you to try to get a rise out of you.
2. Keep your fight on subject. Sometimes fights or arguments get off track when somebody throws a "low blow" out there. Don't point out something that you don't like about the person you are fighting with. That's totally off subject, and a way to make the coward feel better about themselves. And if you throw a low blow out there, make sure you can back it up!
3. If you are happy with yourself, don't let anyone's comments bring you down. Drama queens are actually usually very insecure people, so take that into consideration. You almost have to feel bad for them. So while they're knocking you because they didn't like the outfit you wore last Tuesday, throw them a compliment! Again, be the bigger person.
4. People are always going to bring their friends/parents into fights for backup. It's kind of lame already if parents are getting into teenage drama, so just hope the parent find something useful to do with their time, and obviously friends are there to back you up, so make sure you have some good, true friends that you can trust and who don't talk behind your back. Deal with your own problems, and leave your friends/family out of it.
5. Don't be two-faced. If you don't like a person, just let them be, don't act like their bff.
6. If you don't want to cause a fight, don't say rude comments out in public, vent in private.
7. If you criticize someone about something , tell it to their face, so they know how you really feel, and will maybe change that for you (but i doubt it).
8. You have the choice to do what you want. Don't hold that against people!
9. If it's not your fight, stay out of it! If you have a problem with someone don't write it on their facebook wall or e-mail, say it to their face and don't hide behind technology.
10. Act your age. We are not in elementary school anymore, guys.

I hope these suggestions help you cope with aggravating situations you may encounter in your high school career/life. There are more suggestions on this website. The sad thing is, you will always deal with drama. Be strong, be proud of who you are, and don't worry about the rude things people say, eventually, you will never have to see your enemies again after high school. So deal with it and wish them the best to their future! So all of you who love drama, take on some kind of past time, and find something beneficial to spend your time doing!

HS Student of the Month

HS Student of The Month
This month Mark Sherman was one of the students of the month. This is his first time being student of the month. When I asked him what he thought of being student of the month he said,” I never expected I would ever get the opportunity to bestow this honor”. In his opinion some of the benefits are bragging rights and also receive a pizza for lunch. His favorite part of being student of the month is getting the parking spot. His least favorite part of being it is that people steal is parking spot.
When he gets out of school he plans to attend either Northern State University or University of Sioux Falls and major in business. A profession that he wants to do when he gets older is he would like to own his own business. Right now he doesn’t have any part time or full time jobs. Some of the sports that he participates in are football and wrestling. He is also active in Student Council, Key Club, and Theater.

He enjoys working on computers outside of school. His favorite class is physics and his least favorite is English. He thinks Mr. Benson is a great guy to joke around with, and sometime thinks he acts just like a student.

Jerra is a sophomore. She participates in volleyball, oral interp, gymnastics, and track and is a football cheerleader. The thing she likes about school is the sports and other activities that the school provides for the students. Her favorite class is Comp/speech and her least favorite is Spanish. Jerras favorite teacher is Mr. Gudmanson. She likes Mr. Benson because “He's my buddy and he always can make me smile!” said Jerra. Student of the Month

Freshmen, Adam Krause was one of January’s students of the month. He is involved in Wrestling, 4-H, and youth group. Adam said “I like to go hunting, fishing, or spend time outdoors.” A life goal of Adam’s is to get a good job. “Get along with your teachers, study hard, and stay off your computer when your not suppose to use it,” he said is his advice for other students. One of Adam’s memories from school is this year when Nathan tried to throw something at him, but missed and hit Mr. Gudmundson. He likes student of the month, because he thinks the parking space will come in handy.

The other student of the month for January is junior, Ashley McCormick. She is involved in Chorus, Band, NHS, Student Council, Key Club, and post prom committee. “I like to hang out with my family and friends, I love movie nights, and fun random stuff like that like going to Wal-Mart,” said Ashley. Ashley’s advice for other students is to be nice to everyone, because no one is better than you are; you never know the effect it might have on a person by smiling and saying “hi” in the hallway. Ashley likes being student of the month, because she likes the front row parking and not having to eat school food one day is nice too. Ashley likes going to school to see her friends everyday and talking to people who she wouldn’t normally get the chance to talk to outside of school is really nice.
