Today, May 2nd, the Deuel High School Chorus and Band went to Milbank, SD for a large group contest. The Deuel Band students had to leave at 7 this morning and the chorus students had to leave at 8. The band students had to leave earlier because they had to perform at 8:30. The chorus students had to perform at 9:40 but had to warm up at 9:20. I thought the contest went very well besides for the fact that I had to get up a half an hour earlier this morning to get ready. I'm definitely not a morning person so it was a dreadful morning. When we got to Milbank we got to just chill for awhile and then we went to warm up in the Milbank's Chorus Room at 9:20 and performed at 9:40. We performed "The Lord is My Shepherd", "Gaelic Blessing", and "Hold On". "The Lord is My Shepherd" was definitely my favorite because we sound awesome singing it. My least favorite song would have to be "Gaelic Blessing" because we did not do our best on it. It is definitely a hard song to sing. Overall I think that we did do an awesome job because we got all 1's which is the best you can get. After the contest, we went to eat. You could either eat at Taco John's or Subway. I chose to eat at Subway. We left Milbank at 11:30 and got back to school at 12:15.
