The article that I chose to write about is called, World
Briefing; Europe: Russia: Chechen Declared Dead. This article that I am
writing about was written on May 1st, 2002. That is about 10 years ago.
This article is about russia's military said it had killed a second top
rebel field commander in Chechnya, Shamil Basayev. Shamil Basayev has
survived several other attacks in the past. He has even survived an
ambush in January 2000. The reason why I picked this as my story to ready is because it seemed like it was important, not only to the USA but also the the other countries that were involved.
