Willie Mac


Both the girls and boys sophomore basketball teams participated and placed in the Willie Mac tournament this previous Saturday.
Girls team consisted of Paige Heiberger, Erin Engelkes, Tiara Gibson, Haley Donahue, Heather Dearing, Kylie Tekroney, and Lexi Becht. The girls fell short their first game that morning against the DeSmet Bulldogs. The team fell into the losers bracket, but came back and won their next two games coming up and placing with 5th place. Lennox and both Deubrook were given a loss. The Lennox game ended with only three of their girls playing and us playing with only four. Brandi Hanten and Alyssa Becht were the girls coaches.
Boys team was made up with Trevor Cassels, Brent Krause, Justin Cassels, Gage Schake, Ryan Damm, Andrew Puetz, Curt Boeke, and Zachary Toben. Beginning the day was a win against the Elkton basketball team. Later that afternoon the boys fell only a tad short from the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones. Boys came back against Chester and took home 3rd place. Boys coaches were Ryan Effling and Don Cassels.
