The Dancing Premiere

Last night was the season 12 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. This year the cast along with their professional dancers are boxer "Sugar" Ray Leonard partnered with Anna Trebunskaya, television host Wendy Williams with Tony Dovolani, karate kid Ralph Macchio partnered with Karina Smirnoff, TV star Kendra Wilkinson with Louis van Amstel, actress Kirstie Alley partnered with Maksim Chmerkoviskiy, model Petra Nemcova with Dmitry Chaplin, singer Romeo with Chelsie Hightower, wrestler Chris Jericho partnered with Cheryl Burke, host Mike Catherwood with dancer Lacey Schwimmer, Pittsburg Steeler Hines Ward along with partner Kym Johnson, disney actress Cheslsea Kane partnered with Mark Ballas.
The dance is judged by a panel of 3 judges including Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli. Each dance/performance is given a score out of 10 by each judge, so at the end they will have a score out of 30. After every star had danced, the standing showed that actor Ralph Macchio was at the top with 23 out of 30 points given by the judges. Close behind was actress Kirstie Alley with 23 points. At the bottom of the pack was host Mike Catherwood.
No eliminations will be made this week, so the stars will have one last chance before one of them is eliminated next Tuesday.
I really enjoyed watching the dances. I wish I could dance like some of those professionals because it seems to just come natural for them. In my opinion, the dances weren't that good but I am excited to see each dancer improve and see all of the fun dances to come. I'm not a huge fan of the slow dances, but I really like to watch the faster ones.
