The South Dakota government has been busy with Daugaard proposing a education cut bill. (Luckily we still have time to see what way it will go.) This has made a lot of people irate including myself. Cutting ten percent of the budget means that schools that are barely making it now will be closed down. Daugaard wants to put this money into South Dakota's its economic development fund. There are other ways to do this. The state could raise taxes one percent. Education has suffered enough. South Dakota is the lowest paying state for teachers. Teachers the people that parents look to guide their children, and to teach them, are being casted out like the rest of the education system. The thing with education is that is like a computer. Take care of it and make sure that it is free of viruses. Ignore getting it its anti-virus software and the computer won't be so reliable. Yes, our test grades are great, but our education is just like a computer. If we want it to work out we have to take care of it, nurture and care for it like it's a baby bird. I just feel what he is doing to us is wrong. It's like he is just trying to get rid of the small schools. Deuel, as small as it maybe, is still doing well.
