Technology Too Early For Tots?

When you are two, you'd think you'd be playing with blocks and dolls, right? Well not in Max's case. He is 20 months old and already knows how to tell the difference between a real and fake cell phone.
"Screen time," or time with television, computers, cell phones, smart phones, tablets and more should be kept at a minimum for children. But for kids under two, experts say screen time should be off limits altogether. I agree and disagree. I think younger children should start getting used to technology since it will be a big part of their future. I also think that too much technology could take away from their childhood too. When you are two you should be learning from your parents, and they could be teaching you how to put puzzles together not how to add applications to your iPod. Kids still need to get outside and run around, not be glued to a computer screen already. We need to be more active outdoors rather than watching movies in the house.
If you'd like to read more about tots and technology together here is an article more about it. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/toddlers-tech-screens-created-equal/story?id=11910667

  1. I think it's crazy what this world is coming to! I don't really think toddlers need to start learning about technology, that's kind of pushing it! They have plenty of time to do that when they start going to school.
