SDSU Women number 7 seed in NCAA Tournament

For the first time in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) history, a South Dakota basketball team is going to the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament. The Summit League champion South Dakota State University (SDSU) Jackrabbit women’s basketball team is a number seven seed team in the NCAA tournament.

The women were predicted to be either a five or a six seed but ended up with a seven. I also believed the girls deserved better but I also realize that SDSU is a small school and no one really cares if a small school is treated fairly or not. The thing that made me most upset was they have to play Texas Christian University (TCU) in Lubbock, Texas. This is very close to their hometown and I think that is unfair for the lady Jacks.

The game will start at 6 p.m. on Sunday at United Spirit Arena on the Campus of Texas Tech University. The game can be seen on ESPN2, http://www.espn360.com/ and on the free live web-cast on http://www.gojacks.com/. The game will also be on four local radio stations. These stations are 910 AM KJJQ out of Brookings, 570 AM WNAX out of Yankton, 1480 AM KSDR out of Watertown, and 103.1 FM KJAM out of Madison. If the Jacks win they will play the winner of the Baylor vs. Texas-San Antonio game.
