Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

Choosing a college for seniors is a very difficult task. You want to make sure it's the college you want to attend and that it has the program that you want to pursue. Many seniors are making the decision of where to go. Some people like to choose a place close to home. While some others want to go to a place far from home. There are many options right here in South Dakota. There are state and private colleges. Another thing that the seniors are taking into consideration is the cost. They are filling out scholarships to help with cost. They are also filling out forms for loans and such.

Another decision that the seniors are making is what they want to major and minor in. Some may just go for their generals, then decide what major they want to take up from there. Senior Dalton DeBoer is going to go to SDSU in the fall majoring in Mechanical Engineering. “They have the major I want, all of my siblings went there so it's a good school. It's close to home, and they have a ROTC program,” said DeBoer. You want to do something that you enjoy. The major you decide in college determines what profession you are in. If you take up something that you don't like at all, the chances of you liking the job that comes with it isn't very likely. Make sure you choose something that you enjoy and want to do.

The seniors are or have done campus visits. When you visit the campus you get the feel for what college life is like there. Before you pick the college make sure you visit the place. If you don't really like the visit, the chances of liking the college aren't very high. You want to go to a place where you feel comfortable, because you will be spending the next few years there.
