Texas is on a roll this week with bad news. A 90-year old man and his 92-year old wife died this week after bees swarmed in their home. The man died in the home on Monday and his wife later died on Tuesday after she was flown to a hospital. The insects had built a hive in the couples fireplace and got just a bit angry when the man sprayed the hive to remove it. Their son was at the home when the swarm began. He was stung several times, but was able to drive to a telephone to call for help. The police were able to get the wife out of the house in time, while getting stung a few times in the process. Their daughter-in-law reported the woman was stung over 300 times all over her body. The police have yet to identify the species of bee inside the house and haven't removed the hive yet.
I think tomorrow I'm going to aim for news outside of Texas. There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of good going on down there this week. I have been stung by a bee once and about had a heart attack. I think it would be a painful, terrible way to die.
