Mr. Benson Jumps a Student

The headline sounds vulgar, but it was really an act of true kindness. Breanna Stoltenburg's little ford escort died while it waited for Bre to get done at FCA. It wasn't anything mechanical as to why it died, Breanna actually forgot to turn her lights off! Luckily, Mr. Benson swooped in for the rescue and helped Breanna jump her car! Thanks to Mr. Benson, Breanna was off and on her way again!

You should always be prepared now that winter is in full swing. Breanna received a car survival kit last Christmas, so she was set and safe and had jumper cables handy! First start with your car, make sure to get it in good mechanical condition now with the changing of the season. In your car, always have a flashlight and always have your cell phone on you. Have a tire pressure gauge and always have a spare tire on hand. You should always have jumper cables, a shovel, tire chains, bag of salt or kitty litter, a small toolbox with basic tools inside it, and a medical kit, all in your trunk. Always have a full tank of gas when you set out for a trip and carry antifreeze or water in your trunk. Also keep some imperishable foods and drinking water in your car. If you are caught out in a store you should always have a compass, ice scraper, snow brush, and signaling devices. You should have a tow rope or chain in case you need to get pulled out of the ditch. Always have some extra warm, winter-appropriate clothing along with you in your car, have gloves and even a blanket, and a candle and match to keep you warm.

The best way to keep you from being caught in the cold is to be prepared before the season starts. Always check your winter weather driving checklist when you head out into the treacherous conditions.
