Last Lap

Getting closer to the finish line is Brock Hanten, Drew Trautman, and Shaina Mack. These three are the seniors are this year's cross country team.

Brock Hanten is going on his second year of cross country. His favorite part are the bus rides to the meets. Hanten likes the Deubrook course because he thinks he does the best there. His goal for this year is to improve his time from last year. Hanten said, “I will miss the in depth talks and conversations on the bus rides.” His favorite memory is when the team attermped to build a fifteen person pyramid at the Desmet meet. Hanten plans to go to college after high school but doesn't know where or for what.

First time's a charm. This is Drew Trautman's first year in cross country. Trautman's favorite course is the Webster course because it's very flat. He also got his best time there. “I will miss all the fun the team had together throughout the year,” said Trautman. He plans on going to college to get a degree in Business Management after high school.

Shaina Mack has been in cross country since 7th grade. Her favorite part about cross country is the bus rides and Shirley Krause's, cross country runner Adam Krause's grandma, cookies. Mack has set many goals for herself this year. She wants to place top twenty every meet, qualify for state, and place at state. She has accomplished the goal of making it state, both as part of the team and individualy. Mack said, “I will miss all of my teammates and the friends I made while participating in the sport.” After high school Mack plans on attending SDSU for nursing.
