Artist in school
Febuary 1st-4th Ann E. Taecker, an artist from Watertown, will be at Deuel School to teach art students about silk. She will be coming as part of the South Dakota Arts Council's, Artist in Schools and Communities program. Taecker is from Watertown and works with non-traditional fiber arts. Fiber art is the world's oldest and most common artistic expression. She will be showing how to paint on silk, only using red, yellow, and blue dyes. Taecker will have individual projects and group projects for the students. Taecker will show students how colors interact with each other and how the colors change when they are next to each other.
