Gymnastics from the 27 and Feb. 3
The Deuel gymnists continue to impress even with high expectations this year. The gymnists have set a new school record twice in a week. They traveled to Milbank where Sam W., again, put on a show. She set a school record as an 8th grader on beam with a score of 9.850. Sam W. recieved first in all around and Alex S. got 3rd. The team also set a school record with team points with a score of 133.550. On Tueseday there was a home meet and the girls were a little disappointed in their perforamance. The girls got 2nd to Britton-Hecla. Sam W. got 1st and Alex S got 6th. But as Jackie F. said, "There's no way we ever do that bad again, we are way better than that and we will show them." And boy did the girls show them. The girls also hosted the NEC last night and though there are no official scores out for me to share i was told the team scored in the 134's to break another record set this year. The girls have their sights set high to push Madison off their podium spot for the first tim in 11 years.
