What is the most difficult about effective interviews?

The most difficult thing is probably trying to think of all the questions you're going to ask. It takes forever to come up with the questions and sometimes if you don't know anything about the subject it's even harder. The next most difficult thing would have to be keeping the conversation going after you start it.
