New Season, New Squad: Wrestling

The results are in, and we now know the results for the 2011-2012 cheerleading squads. The fate of the cheer squads still remains uncertain with all the schools budget cuts, but the show must go on for now. Today, I decided I'd start with filling you in on what's new with the wrestling cheer squad. There wasn't too much of a shake up for the team next season except for one switch up.

Members are returning seniors Paige TeGantvoort and Krista Zellner, sophomore Hallie Shea, and the newbie, incoming freshman Ashley Stein. After getting some experience under her belt, Shea is going into next season with a lot more confidence. "I'm more confident in the fact that I'm closer to the squad and I don't have to be scared of the wrestlers because I know them," said Shea. Knowing the cheers by heart also helps too. But from the other end of the spectrum, for senior Paige TeGantvoort this season will be bittersweet. "We've had a lot of fun together in the last three years," said TeGantvoort, "and I'm not looking forward to it all ending."
