Cutting into the Pig!
We finally got to actually cut into the pigs today in Biology 151. To effectively open them and get to see their insides, we had to tie their arms and legs down which really opened things up. After that, we had to use a scissors and cut them open following directions, of course. There were specific incisions we had to make so we wouldn't cut anything open we didn't want to. Today we just fully opened the abdominal cavity of the pigs. We got to see all sorts of organs such as the stomach, large intestine, small intestine, spleen, pancreas, and the liver. It's quite interesting because the pigs insides are much like ours. Seeing their organs and thinking about ours is quite weird. Next week sometime we will be opening the thoracic cavity of our pigs.
