Going for Gold

The state gymnastics is coming up this weekend. It is being held Friday and Saturday Febraury 18th and 19th at the Watertwon High School Civic Arena. It will a total of four competitions, mean that the AA's (the big schools) will compete both mornings, and the A's (small schools) will be competing in the afternoon, both days. The Friday night team competition will start at around 4:30 with the AA's preceding the A competition. The Deuel Cardinal Gymnasts are hoping to take the gold home that night, away from 16 time state champions Madison. We will have to see, though, how the night goes. The night will come down to who can make the least amount of mistakes, and who can stay on the balance beam. Now, Saturday night meet starting at 5:00 is a totally different scenario. You see the Friday night competition is all about the team, individual scores don't matter and are forgotten that night. Saturday, however, is all about the individuals. Each person qualified for the state meet at the region meet to be at state that year. This meet also comes down to who has the best day and can keep everything in check. Good luck Deuel Cardinal Gymnasts at the state meet!!!
