Budget Cuts!

With all of the cuts that are going to be happening at schools its scary to think this would be us next. Governor Dennis Daugaard has ideas of cutting back to save money so what does this mean, not having the classes we want to take? Or teachers loosing their jobs because we can't afford it?

In my opinion as a student I think we can do something about this budget situation without actually having to cut back things us students like to do. Superintendent Pam Homan says “Too big of a cut could effect the quality of education, even in South Dakota's largest district.” I totally agree with what she is saying, cutting classes that students need or want to take is not the answer to budget cuts there has to be another solution.

Students could do more fundraisers or cut back on other things that are not used as much like with downloading books on computers and not using paper anymore just do everything on a computer. Those are just a couple of ideas but I'm sure more students who agree with me could think of some more ideas to fix this.
