Victory is Ours

On Saturday, December 18, the Deuel gymnasts competed in Milbank, SD. It was their third meet of the season, and it is starting to show how much practice they have been putting in at the gym. The girls have one more meet before Christmas in Britton-Hecla on December 20.
Back to the Milkbank meet though. The gymnasts started out their day at 8:00 when they loaded up the bus and headed out. Your probably think what do the gymnasts need to take to a meet besides a leotard and a ponytail. Well, let me tell you we take a lot on a bus. We took an 8in. mat, a 4in mat, a spring board, a U mat (for vault), a hand placement mat (for vault), our music, and a med. kit. It is a lot to carry onto and off of a bus, let me tell you.
Timed warm-ups began at 9:30 and ran till 10:50 approximately. The meet started at 11 and the Deuel Cardinals started on the Floor, preceded by a bye. The girls did very well moving from floor to vault, from vault to bars, and lastly from bars to beam. In the end the team scored a 142.6, which was close to the school record of 142.7. I just want to say to all the gymnasts, keep it up, and plan to continue seeing amazing things!
