A Real Nail Biter

On Tuesday night, the junior varsity girls basketball team played Elkton-Lake Benton. The cardinals trailed most of the game, but towards the end of the 4th quarter the girls started to push points. The score of the game was now 24-25 in favor of the Elkton-Lake Benton Lady Elks. With 5 seconds left, freshman Mackenzie Mack dribbled down just passed half court and was trapped. She took the long shot, which bounced from the backboard to the rim and then went in. The final score of the game was 27-25 Cardinals. Everyone in the crowd was left in amazement. With their first game being a win, the team is hoping to keep up the momentum.
