Do you remember doing the peace poster project when you were in grade school? This art project is to encourage children to creatively express what they think peace really means. “With this project the students can't have words in it at all,” said Mrs. Barbara Miller. “All they can have is pictures that they draw but it has to give a message of peace.” This project involves the students with the community, and also lets them work with the Lions Club. Once the posters are finished Mr. Jerry Solem comes to the school and picks the posters up to judge them. In order to get them judged the students must have their posters done by the dead line which, November 15.

“I think the best part of this project was drawing what I think peace really means,” said, fifth grader, Brittany Van Wormer. The fifth graders had worked on this project for four weeks. I bet many students hope and think they will win the project contest. “I think I will win because I am good at drawing,” said Van Wormer. People may have their own opinion on this project, if they liked it or why they even did it. Van Wormer thought they did the project to show people what they thought peace really meant in a fifth graders point of view.
