A Thankful Thanksgiving
Every Thanksgiving I go to my Aunt Gwen's in Sioux Falls. For different holidays we go to different places. Easter is at my Aunt Jill's, Fourth of July and Christmas is at Grandma's, and then Thanksgiving at Aunt Gwen's. We have the same food every year. Turkey and Ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, apple pie and all the works. But my favorite is definitely the lefsa. Its a Norwegian dessert, snack type food. It takes about 2 minutes to make it. I eat so many over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter its not even funny, but I don't mind it. We will leave more than likely around nine tomorrow morning and get to Gwen's around 11. She usually starts cooking everything before we get there but once Grandma's in the kitchen too everything gets going. We have the full meal at dinner time and then for supper we have ham sandwiches and chips and sometimes other leftovers if there are some. The day is sometimes really boring for me, we just basically sit around until we eat or take a nap. My grandpa always falls asleep in the chair. And every year we watch the game too. I always have some fun laughs and stories while I'm with my family. I'm happy to call them my family, we just joke around so much with each other it gets to be so funny. I have to be thankful for them, otherwise whose recipes will I take when I have to make my own Thanksgiving meal? Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
