Diffusion and Osmosis with an egg!

What is Cracking! Nothing is cracking but shells are dissolving! In biology students took eggs and put them in a glass of vinegar. The shell then dissolved. WHAT! Thats right... also the egg got bigger because diffusion happened. Diffusion is the movement of a substance from a large amount to an area with a smaller amount. After that we moved the egg into a syrup solution, and then osmosis happened and made the egg smaller. Osmosis is the movement of water along the cell membrane. Then after that we ended it with putting it in water and then diffusion happened a little bit and the egg got bigger. After all we done the class got to pop the eggs!

in this picture you see an egg in vinegar!
