Junior Short Stories
For the last month the Junior class has been reading short stories and poems by numerous authors and learning about those authors. Some of the authors that we have learned about are Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson. We also read stories by Frederick Douglass, and Harriet A. Jacobs. Both of those authors expressed there views on slavery. We have read spirituals, which are songs that the slaves sang when they worked in the fields.
